I am so proud to show this beautiful lace wedding dress. I met Lucy just before Christmas in 2018 and she wasn’t quite sure what sort of wedding dress she was looking for. Lucy was concerned that a traditional ivory or white wedding dress wouldn’t suit her, or would be “too young” for her (Lucy’s words not mine, I think Lucy would look stunning in anything!). Over the course of a few meetings in my studio, Lucy fell in love with a stunning embellished ivory lace which had a wonderful ornate motif on the hem. Originally, we were just going to use a portion of the lace, but Lucy loved the effect of the whole lace so much that I convinced her to go with a full length lace dress. To mute the overtly “bridal” effect, we discussed the idea of a different colour satin underneath. I sourced a wonderfully soft crepe-back satin in the most glorious sage tone. It worked perfectly and suited Lucy and her aesthetic wonderfully. Having visited Lucy’s beautiful home for fittings, I really felt her lace wedding dress represented her and her taste so well. Lucy’s wedding dress also featured a vintage-style beaded waist trim, silk-covered bridal buttons down the back of the dress and fitted lace sleeves. Congratulations to this beautiful couple!
