My Story
Hello! My name is Clare Szabo and I design custom made wedding dresses and bridal attire in Cambridge, UK. I’m now an award-winning bridal dressmaker and designer, but my business first became a dream after making my own wedding dress in 2012. Each step was a testament of love: from choosing the style and design to carefully selecting my bridal fabric – I knew this was something I was good at and could do for other people. As a trained designer and professional dressmaker, I decided to use my skills and experience to make custom made wedding dresses and attire in Cambridge. I also felt bridal was the right job for me because I believed that my personal attributes as an understanding, compassionate person would be a great asset to couples looking for a safe, non-judgemental environment where they could freely discuss their wedding and their values. I set up my studio and began designing my own bridal collection as well as exhibiting at wedding shows where I met fabulous couples looking for something different. My main goal at River Elliot Bridal is to take those excited spouses-to-be on a special, memorable journey. With me, they’ll not only discover their perfect wedding attire but also feel like royalty each step of the way.
My passion is to design luxury, high quality custom made wedding dresses and attire in Cambridge for modern bridal clients. With careful, thoughtful construction and couture finishes my custom made wedding dresses and attire place quality over quantity. You’ll receive a beautifully made to order wedding outfit (be it a wedding dress, suit or jumpsuit) that is truly unique and bespoke.
Bespoke Wedding Dresses
We’ll take the time to sit in a relaxed environment in my bridal studio in Cambridge. My studio is private and you’ll be the only client in there. It’s an open safe place with no judgement or body shaming. There’s only rule: Relax and have fun! We’ll discuss your style, vision, fabrics, and most importantly how you want to feel on your wedding day. The bespoke wedding dress or outfit that really says ‘you’ will make you feel like the finest, most beautiful version of yourself on one of the most important days of your life.
With my knowledge of style and design, I can also create the perfect bespoke outfit that will become a treasured item in your wardrobe. If you’re not looking for wedding attire, you can still contact me. My bespoke services cater for all sizes and body shapes, aiming to make all my clients feel confident, happy and comfortable in their clothes. My expertise of style has been quoted in the press, such as The Daily Express’s story predicting what The Duchess of Sussex’s wedding dress would look like, as well as Ok! Magazine online and The Daily Mail predicting the wedding dress for Princess Eugenie. My studio is based in Cambridge, but I cater for clients in wider areas including London and Essex.
