I’m an award-winning wedding designer & dressmaker

Voted ‘One to Watch’ in Best Bridal Dressmaker and Designer Category

I’m so excited to announce on my website and blog that I got voted ‘One to Watch’ for the best bridal dressmaker and designer at the Four Counties Wedding Awards last month. The awards took place at the beautiful Knebworth House on 28 November and I had such a fun time getting dressed up, meeting amazing wedding suppliers and enjoying a delicious 3-course meal.

Four Counties Wedding Awards

What are the Four Counties Wedding Awards?

As explained on the 4CWA website, “the Four Counties Wedding Awards recognises and rewards the hard work and dedication, the long hours and patience of local wedding suppliers in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Cambridgeshire. Those who go above and beyond to make every wedding day so very special. A real recognition of excellence in the wedding service sector.”

Bridal Dressmaker Cambridge

It’s a really wonderful honour to know that you have been recognised and rewarded in your own business industry. The bridal and wedding industry is a very competitive market with so many new and existing suppliers offering their services to engaged couples. As a hard-working bridal dressmaker in Cambridge, I spend many hours refining my brand and business, working extra hard to ensure that I show current and potential brides how I can help them with their dream wedding dress, how I am the right bridal dressmaker for the job and why my service is different to my competitors.

What does it mean for bridal clients looking for a bridal dressmaker?

Achieving this accolade in the Bridal Dressmaker and Designer category means that I can prove to my current and future brides that they can trust me and the quality of my work. By learning that an industry-based wedding awards has positively judged my work and business, brides can feel confident that I am a qualified, experienced bridal dressmaker.

What does this mean for River Elliot Bridal?

Winning ‘One to Watch’ at the Four Counties Wedding Awards in the Bridal Dressmaker & Designer category is a huge confidence boost for both myself and my business, River Elliot Bridal. Although I have been sewing and designing clothes for many years, I only launched my bespoke bridal business in Cambridge in early 2017. I have worked extremely hard on both bespoke bridal commissions as well as developing my own bridal collection, both of which demonstrate my skill and expertise in making wedding dresses.

After receiving this award, I really believe my business will continue to go from strength to strength. It has motivated me even more to aim to become the leading bridal dressmaker in Cambridge and beyond. I believe that my dressmaking skills combined with my compassion and personality, allow me to offer brides a strong, trustworthy, reliable product as well as a place (my studio) where they feel respected, cared for and in safe hands!  I love offering all brides the service and journey they deserve in their search for a wedding dress. I designed my own wedding dress (below) and it’s forever my benchmark for all my brides. I strive to give all my bridal clients the same passion, love and hard-work that I applied to my own wedding dress.

What do you plan to do now?

As 2018 is drawing to a close, I will take some time to reflect on a really great year. As a bridal dressmaker I have met some extremely wonderful clients, from young women looking for bespoke prom dresses to mature brides looking for sophisticated, city-style wedding dresses. All this experience has been amazing and I can’t wait to meet new brides next year. My other plans include launching my second bridal collection. Based in Cambridge, I will continue to design and launch a new modern bridal collection that celebrates diversity. It’s important to me to ensure I represent all women in my collection, and so I am looking forward to searching for new inspiration and working with real women.  I also aim to develop more contacts in ethical fashion. I am very passionate about the environment and currently I already offer ethical options within my fabric choices. I’d like to find more sustainable suppliers in 2019 so that I can really vary my choices for clients interested in ethical bridal options.

How can i book you to make my wedding dress?

If you are interested in booking me as your bridal dressmaker and designer, please send me an email. My first consultation is still free and lasts up to 60 minutes. My bridal studio is based in Cambridge and there is adequate parking. Currently, I am receiving bookings and enquiries for 2019 so please don’t delay in getting in contact. I’d love to include you in my 2019 bridal production schedule!
